St Barths

The Official name of the island is St Barthélemy, but it is usually referred to as - St Barth. St Barthelemy island is a French colony, though for a brief period the island was leased out to the Swedish. Gustavia is the main town, with a harbor full of impressive yachts. The island has excellent beaches to offer and is considered the most fashionable island in the regions.

St Barths is situated about fifteen miles south east of St Martin, the main access point from the USA and Europe. The island is only six miles by three miles in size and the population is only around 8000, although it swells to 16,000 in winters. The island has one Airport that can handle small planes. The island has more than a dozen beaches and some of them are topless, especially beaches on the southern part of the island. St Barth's is perfect for lazing around on the beaches and enjoying French cuisine
In January and February every year the island hosts its biggest festival called 'Festival de Musique'. The festival attracts many international tourists

The island is a winter escape for film stars and many well-known millionaires. The island is safe and the shops are considered to be the best among the region. The shops also offer duty-free French goods.
